Yazaki North America (YNA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TOWING Co., Ltd. (TOWING) to develop a biochar production business in Mexico and Central America. This agreement builds on the companies’ ongoing collaboration to promote sustainable agriculture and global decarbonization.

YNA and TOWING have been conducting joint demonstration experiments in Mexico using TOWING’s high-performance biochar, Soratan, to address agricultural challenges and reduce carbon emissions. The MOU formalizes their dedication to expanding biochar production in the region, strengthening sustainability efforts, and supporting climate change mitigation.

Through this collaboration, YNA and TOWING aim to establish a framework for a commercial biochar business, providing innovative solutions to enhance soil health, improve crop yields, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
